LIFE ON TITAN
When Software Refinery first said they'd be updaing the game, I never thought they'd do so much. I also never thought that I'd be distributing the beta patches. They are not mine to distribute. They belong to SR, but I'm releasing them for the following reasons:
Software Refinery is no more and I see no hope that they will be distributing the patch.
There is no money involoved. The patches are free. No one is taking money away from the deserving guys that once made up SR.
The beta patches have been distributed privately and at least one group is willing to offer them for sale. By posting them freely here, I hope to prevent that.
Make no mistake, I do not have permission from anyone to distribute the beta patches and no one alive is responsible for any problems you have running them. On the bright side, all problems that I and other beta testers had was in the game alone. They didn't hurt our computers.
To use the patch, download the hardwar3beta2.zip file, unzip it, and run the .EXE file. It requires a password which is contained in the accompianing .TXT file.
The last three patches stabalized manufacturing and TI features as well as adding some new weapons and rooms in hangars.
Beta 3 mostly stabablized and improved the TI. It also introduced rooms and tunnels in hangars.
Beta 4 adds online features for game hosts like limiting access to God Hangar. It also opens the tunnel between Downtown and Reservoir.
Beta 5 became notorious for corrupting Titan's economy. In an attempt to make prices more responsive to what was going on in the game, they became too sensitive. Expect some outrageous pricing. On the other hand, some neat new missiles were introduced:
Fumbler - Causes Moths to drop their cargo.
Disabler - Completely disables a Moth.
Blaster - Damages buildings, but you can't actually destroy one. They just start ordering a lot of ConstMat. You can force smaller businesses into bankruptcy.
NOTE: You cannot play saved games of one version of HardWar with any other version of the game!
THANKS SR !!!
