COMBAT PERFORMANCENo matter which Moth you fly, you will eventually have to fight. All Moths have at least one advantage in a dogfight. You need to know how to exploit these advantages and equip your Moth to survive. COMBAT CHARACTERISITCS
There are advantages and disadvantages to each Moth. Below are some tips to exploit each Moth's advantages when dogfighting: Silver-Y -- The small size makes it hard to hit. Use a lot of jinking and straffing to accent this effect when running. Keep an eye out for the nearest tunnel at all times because you're too frail and slow to fight much if your enemy strikes first. Moon Moth -- Still the sharpest turning Moth on Titan. Use this with the Quick Turn technique to stay behind your enemy. They should only be able to shake you by outrunning you. Neo-Tiger -- Very fast. Use your speed to take chances. You can always outrun your enemy if things turn against you. The Swallow is the only faster Moth on Titan. Hawk -- A good balance of toughness and manuverability. Use this by constantly turning in a dogfight and dodging while running. This helps offset the Hawk's high target profile. Death's Head -- The ultimate weapon. Load it up with missiles and use them liberally to offset the Death's Head's slowness. Police Moth -- Built to fight and arguably the best dogfighting machine on Titan. The hull is tough and you don't need to run quite as early as with other Moths. Hang in there and try for a kill. Removing a pod and drone will really pick up the Police Moth's performance. Swallow -- This Moth's so good it's almost a cheat to use it in the offline game. Use it to take big chances and accomplish the impossible. |
More On Moths
I think the Moon Moth is the most under-rated Moth on Titan. Start a fight with a Taxi cab and see for yourself.
